A rare Queen Anne walnut slipper armchair, Boston, circa 1740-50. A very scarce form with a fully carved shell at the crest and at each knee. Shaped arms with scrolled hand holds above a slip seat and cabriole legs with turned cross stretchers. Resoted, alterations. Height 38.5 in, width 26 in, Depth 19.5 in, height of seat rail 13.75 in.
